Reply and react

You can reply to a topic or react to individual posts with an emoji.You can reply to a whole topic or to a single post, and show appreciation without writing anything.

Reply:

  1. Open the topic and click Reply at the bottom of the page to reply to the thread as a whole.
  2. To answer someone directly, click Reply under that particular post. The reply is then linked to the post and the person you answer gets a notification.
  3. Write your reply and click Reply.

Quote part of a post:

  1. Select the text you want to address.
  2. Click Quote where it appears by the selection. You can also press q.
  3. The quote lands in the composer and you write your reply below it.

This is often clearer than replying to a whole post, especially in long threads.

Like and bookmark:

  • Click the heart under a post to Like it. This is how you agree without filling the thread with short replies.
  • Click Bookmark to save a post for yourself. You reach your bookmarks from the profile menu, and you can choose to be reminded on a given date.

Mention someone: type @ followed by the username in your post. The person gets a notification even if they are not following the thread.
