Settings and notifications
You can customise your account and control how much Forum contacts you.
- Click your profile photo in the top right and select Preferences.
- Under Profile you add a profile picture and a short bio.
- Under Interface language you choose which language Forum is shown in.
- Click Save Changes.
Control notifications:
Under Notifications you decide what should notify you, and how often you want email. Activity Summary sends a digest of what you missed instead of one email per event, which makes sense if you visit the forum rarely.
This is also where you set whole categories: which ones to watch automatically, and which belong under Muted categories and should never appear in your feed.
Control a single topic:
At the bottom of every topic there is a notification button showing the current level:
- Watching notifies you of every new post.
- Tracking only notifies you of mentions and replies to you, but counts new replies.
- Normal is the default and only notifies you when someone mentions or replies to you.
- Muted switches notifications off entirely for that topic.
You are automatically set to Tracking in topics you have posted in. If you get too many notifications, that is usually where to start rather than in the general settings.
